On Friday nights most of the mission team leads worship across the street at a church. It is a nightly thing that happened back in 2007 after the youth group went to the call in Nashville Tenn. So since 2007 every Friday night has been a worship night wherever we found a place usually in the living room of our youth pastor. It has been and will continue to be free for everyone, including all the ones that are/have been kicked out of bigger church’s for not looking the right way, for the ones who are seeking, the doors will always be open!
But seriously when you go to a true place of worship, the most common mistake is thinking that you have to worship like someone else, and they get discourage, because they don’t feel anything. All that God wants is for you to come to Him with an open and honest heart. Just be yourself and God will start using you the way He made you. The Second mistake is trying to tell someone how to worship. I can honestly write this because I have been on both sides of it myself. Being part of the Ministry for so many years, I have seen many people come and go, some changed, some have not yet. The main thing I have noticed, everyone is different, I’ve seen hands being raised, people face down in worship, just sitting in the pews not saying a word, speaking in tongues, yelling, running and ect…
The concept is however the same and will continue to be the same. God will use you how He sees fit and what is going to edify that person or the whole group at that specific time. With that being said just be open and honest before God and no one else in the room. Remember who do you will to please more? The moral of this is to never compare yourselves to someone else.
There are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But, the manifestation of the spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.
1st Corinthians 12:4-7
God has the same spirit (AKA the Holy Ghost), ans God has made everyone distantly different from the next which is why we as people, God’s children, have different gifts that is why we act and see things differently. We all have been through different aspects in our own lives. God has a purpose for your life and is what makes you see different. Don’t get me wrong we do or will serve the same God and that is where we are alike as true children of God. That should not differ at all. Be yourself, be open, be honest before God and He will turn you into the person that he has created you to be, for you were wonderfully and fearfully made. The best you, you could ever possibly be is not someone else.
