I would just like to say WOW to this week alone! A few days ago we went to ABQ to pick up 130 free trees for our property! And you know what that means? 130 holes to dig! (in the snow I might add) We were all working as a team, 2 people to dig the holes and 2 people to plant the trees. The whole time I was just meditating on God and thinking to myself “I can’t wait to see the trees in full bloom and even to see them fully grown. I came to realize that in the bible Jesus said If you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains and nothing will be impossible. Mustard seeds are so tiny almost like a grain of sand, but they grow into one of the largest and strongest trees. (Usually beside a river) A seed doesn’t grow into a full grown tree overnight, It takes time and patience. The roots dig down deep and are almost impossible to remove, In order to do that It needs water and nutrients. We as Christians are the same way (of course I know everyone grows at a different rate… Hey trees do) When we first get saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, we are like the seed. Without prayer and Gods word we will not grow, we will shrivel up and die. Above all we must be patient and not force anything, we should allow God to bring us up In the way that He wants us to be.
You have to believe in God to grow right? Yes and no….. Let me explain …. We all need to believe in God above all else, but we also need to believe in ourselves, something most people leave out. Don’t trust yourself but believe in yourself. If you believe in God but you don’t believe in yourself, well that isn’t a good combination! Those two should always go hand and hand, A lot of people will say they believe in God and you can tell that they don’t believe in themselves. If we go back to Exdous 4 and look at Moses as an example, God at this time was speaking to Moses from the burning bush and was giving Moses a lay out plan of what he was to do. Moses at this time believed what God had to say and even though it doesn’t say that he agreed, you can gather that from the context clues. (Please read exodus 3 and 4 🙂 don’t just take my word for it)
Don’t get me wrong Moses was a great prophet of God! He just didn’t believe in himself, he didn’t believe that anybody would listen to him because of his speech impediment. So God was basically like fine get Aaron to speak for you and I’ll still speak to you. It was a chain of communication could you imagine if it went straight from Moses’s mouth? God’s perfect plan is to use you and speak through you, hence why He chose you. Later on though, Moses was a boss, He led the Jews out from slavery, parted the red sea, and continued to talk to God face to face! God chose Moses, God knew the problems Moses had, yet he still chose him above everyone else. When God calls you to something, you need to believe that you can do it, after all God does! You can believe in God all day long, but until you truly believe in yourself, you won’t be doing what God has called you to do; you will be missing out on a lot of things.
Matthew 17:14-21…. 14 When they came to the crowd, a man came to Him and knelt before Him, saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him.”Then Jesus answered, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and he came out of him. And the child was healed instantly. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast him out?” 20 Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. And nothing will be impossible for you. 21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Exodus 3 and 4!
And of course Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
I could keep going until I posted the whole bible, because it’s just so good and interesting and it’s hard to stop.
